Music Recommendation

I have to talk to you about Houses, this perfect little duo from Chicago.

I listened to "A Quiet Darkness" first. The first song Beginnings, is one of my new all-time favorite songs in the world. I had it on repeat for so long that I couldn't even write this recommendation a few weeks ago when I initially found them. I couldn't let go of that song long enough to hear the rest of what they wrote! Both of the albums are absolutely breathtaking. They're on the slow side of music, it's the kind that you get completely lost in.

They are particularly interesting on the music scene, they do a pretty unique thing. For their second album "A Quiet Darkness" they visited abandoned homes and took recordings of different things, such as light switches and sweeping hardwood floors. I read the description and loved the album before I even started listening. It is such an interesting idea, and they did it really well. I didn't recognize some of the unique sounds at first, I had to listen through a couple times and really focus to identify them. They sounded like instruments! It was so well done and very cohesive.

I really am just speechless. Please take some time and go listen to these albums and get lost. The music completely inspired me and filled me with a hundred different emotions that I will never have the words to say.
