May 11th 2016 was one for the books.
Panama Wedding, The Griswold's, and Magic Man.
(fun fact my photography is neither the best quality nor professional)

My friends looked so beautiful on stage. The lights were insane. They created this ambiance that made you want to live inside every song (Magic Man). |
I got to the Santa Ana Observatory about 30 minutes before the doors opened. I walked right up to the GA line that was filled with maybe 50 or so people. But low and behold there is the beautiful Alex Caplow standing three feet in front of me right at the entrance to the line. He was just standing there in all his beautiful glory talking to everyone around. I met him right then and there. I felt like I was standing in this beautiful aura of goodness and purity and I swear he smelt like absolute happiness. It's been a few weeks but I still can't quite process that it happened. He was a pleasure to visit with for a while.

Alex was a pure gem. He visited with all of us up until the doors opened, and I got him to write something really special for me.
Fun Fact: I almost wore the same shirt that Al is wearing... |
Me and my dance buddies finally went inside once the doors opened. Bless this venue, because there are so many places to stand and you have a good view from everywhere. We ended up on the side of GA, level with the stage on the top of these stairs that went down into the photo pit. We were so close! We got some merch and hung out talking to all the beautiful people around us. Magic Man concerts are filled with my kind of people. Outgoing, eccentric, and unique they were all so kind and I wish I could have spoken to every one of them. They were the most beautiful dancers and completely let lose and free. I watched the crowd just as much as the bands, it was like this beautiful story. Each person was just this strikingly loud and beautiful experience and it was the coolest thing to watch. Some people like myself stayed in one place for the whole evening but the wildest people ran all through the venue dancing like no one was watching them. They had glitter on their faces and in their hearts, It was something unexplainably pleasing to an introvert like me. I was inspired to be one of the free.
Panama Wedding was
amazing. I was really taken aback. I had listened to all of their stuff a few times albeit not religiously and I liked their sound. But I was really surprised by their stage presence and their ability to move the crowd. So so amazing. I went home and listened to their stuff specifically on repeat for a few days, I heard it in a new way after witnessing it live.

I didn't photograph much of PW...but just for the sake of pleasing my inner aesthetic here's a shot from their set. |
The Griswold's oh man oh man. They have a couple of songs that might be some of my favorite in all the world and I was beyond ecstatic to hear them. They did not disappoint. They got the crowd to really let loose and oh my goodness I miss the feeling. Also p.s. they win the title of cutest merchandise. We talked to Danny Duke for a few too in between this set and Magic Man's!

Chris' hair was electrifying. |
And finally. The band I've been anxious to see for a few years now. The one that brought in a new light and showed me feelings I never knew that I could feel. Magic Man. One of my top favorite bands, I couldn't believe what I was about to witness. In the moment I was speechless and I still am. I was happier than happy. After this concert, the post-concert sadness didn't hit me for like two days I was in this complete daze after this concert. The vibes stayed with me longer than they have for any other concert. I was just so happy and healed. The lighting for this entire set list was like the cherry on top. Just wow. Next time Magic Man gets on a tour please do yourself a service and see them. You will not regret it. The encore with all three of the bands on stage at the end was so sweet to witness too.
Thank you Hotline-Spring tour. You were so good to me.
